Haiti Fall Fundraiser
This October we celebrate the 100th World Mission Day since its establishment in October of 1927 by Pope Pius XI.
All Saints has been twinned with Notre Dame de Lourdes in Haiti since 2000. In 2004 St. Mary's in Vinton joined us and in 2013 St. John the Baptist came to the table. Now, as part of the Cedar Rapids Area East Pastorate, we are blessed to have St. Ludmila and St. Pius X join us in our twinning relationship.
For the past 26 years we have assisted 17–24 chapel schools in the Notre Dame de Lourdes parish by helping pay salaries for 68 teachers. There are approximately 3,200 students in our twin parish chapel schools each year.
Every year since 2003 we have conducted fundraisers to help support education in Haiti. We take this time to give thanks for all we have and to give from what we have received. This year we will also be working to answer questions from the CR East Pastorate and welcome more people to the table.
Keep the Students in Your Prayers
Please, if you see a student picture, take it home with you and pray for their education, health and future. Every time we have visited them, they tell us that they keep us in their prayers. It is a wonderful blessing to have so many praying for us.
